In this page we’re testing the customized video block we created for UnderstandingRelationships.com. The goal of this block is to present YouTube / Vimeo video sources and an location for declaring an audio file. This block also allows the display of customized thumbnail directly that could override the default YouTube or Vimeo versions.
Global Embed (via Video Plugin):
The example below shows the globally assigned video (currently assigned to YouTube) that will display as default. While the plugin allows for the input of multiple video sources per entry, the global option can be turned on and enabled as a default option.
Manual Selection (Vimeo):
This example demonstrates a manual selection. We have disabled the global setting in this entry and only checked the Vimeo option even when we have both YouTube and Vimeo links available. You’ll notice that the Vimeo video pulls the default thumbnail directly from whatever is assigned from its source.
Manual Thumbnails:
In this example, I want to demonstrate how we can manually assign different video thumbnails. It’s always a good idea to manually assign thumbnails so the video doesn’t need to pull the original thumbnail from its YouTube or Vimeo source – this makes the page load much quicker.
