I am the best in the world at what I do; not because I am better than you, but because I apply better success principles in my life on a consistent basis than most people. You know what? You can be just as successful as me, and even more so, if you apply the same principles I have been applying for the last two decades with phenomenal success!!! You must be who you are. What you should be, is not important.
If you are not where you want to be in life right now, and are worried about what others think about you if you go after what you really want in life, then you need to stop giving a damn what others think about you! If you live your life according to other people’s expectations and what they think you should be or do, you will never be happy and fulfilled, or achieve the level of success that you are truly capable of.
You must follow your heart, your curiosity and your intuition. We only have a short time on this planet. Everything that you love and hold dear eventually will dissolve. Life is change. Everything in nature either grows and contributes, or it is eliminated. Life happens when you move. Stagnation happens when you die.
The best thing you can do in your life is to take daily simple action towards achieving and creating your ideal life. Earning a living is for losers. Designing a life, is for winners. Over my life I have worked many jobs I hated so I could pay my bills. But the one thing that has separated me from the average person, is that even when I am working at a job I hate, my goals and vision for my life are always in the back of my mind. I am always contemplating and thinking about what I can do today that will help me accomplish my goals and make my next grandest vision for my life, a reality. Inaction breeds fear and doubt. Action breeds confidence and courage.
Every time I have started a new company, or came up with something I wanted to accomplish or achieve, I had no idea how I was going to successfully achieve it. The technology and tools I use in my current life coaching business that facilitate bringing my gifts and talents to the world, and that make it possible for me to earn a very lucrative living writing self-help books, making videos, making audio CDs, writing articles, etc. did not even exist when I started my life coaching business six years ago. Most everything that I thought would make my business work when I first started, turned out to be wrong. As a matter of fact, 99.9% of everything I tried over the course of several years to create a successful and profitable business model did not work, or did not work very well. However, every time I tried something and it did not work, I learned something.
When Thomas Edison was several years into his research and testing trying to figure out how to invent the light bulb, and had unsuccessfully tested several thousand different types of materials for a filament to make the light bulb light work without it burning out, someone pointed out how futile his search for the right filament material appeared to them. Unaffected and undeterred, Edison responded back that he had simply learned 7123 (don’t remember the exact figure, but it was high at that point. It took Edison 10,000 tries to finally find the right filament material.) different types of materials that will not work. He was totally optimistic and scientific in his attitude. He knew it was simply a process of trial and error and elimination. People thought he was crazy… until he succeeded. It did not matter how many successes he had previously inventing other useful devices, people thought he was crazy while he was failing, but praised him as a genius when he succeeded.
People who are too weak to follow their own dreams, will always find a way to try and discourage yours. Why? Because you chasing your dreams is a direct reflection back to them of how unsuccessful and impotent they are at chasing their own dreams. Haters don’t hate you. Haters hate you because you are a reflection of what they wish they could be. Attacking you and trying to discourage you from chasing your dreams, makes them feel better about themselves. Tell them to shut the fuck up unless they have something positive, loving and encouraging to say to you. It is hard enough to stay motivated chasing your goals and dreams over the many years and decades it takes to succeed, without some weak friend, family member or acquaintance trying to bring you down to their level. People who attack you are actually looking for leadership. The word lead means to go first. They do not believe in themselves. By projecting all of their own self-hatred and self doubt onto you, deep down they are really hoping that you do not let it affect you and succeed anyways. Because when you finally succeed, you will have given them hope and shown them a good example to follow.
I do not teach or share anything on my website that I have not applied to get results in my own life. I teach what works. I’ve learned from the best coaches, trainers, experts, doctors, entrepreneurs, CEOs, billionaires, etc. over the past two decades of my life. I have successfully envisioned, created from nothing and built several multimillion dollar corporations with the help of outstanding advisers, teammates, partners, employees and consultants. I practice what I preach. I lead from the front and not the rear. I lead by example. “A leader leads by example, not by force.”–Sun Tzu. Gandhi said we must be the change we want to see in the world.
No one outside of you can make your dreams happen. Not the vain, lying, aspiring, shallow, morally bankrupt and inept politicians who unapologetically and deviously look into the camera and read teleprompters full of platitudes, empty promises, fear-based rhetoric, warmongering, etc. that try to convince you (incorrectly) that you need them and their BS policies in order to achieve true happiness and fulfillment in life. All of the governments of the world are infested with, and have been taken over by the least qualified and most inept amongst us. These self-centered, self serving and self appointed “intellectual elite” have no intention of changing their ways as they continue to whore themselves out to whatever corporation, bank, Wall Street company, lobbyist, large campaign donation bundler or special-interest gives them the most votes and money so they can keep and increase their power. Ignore their promises of how they are going to take care of you and solve all of your problems. They only care about themselves and their asshole buddies.
When you put your own success at the mercy of, or in the hands of someone else or some event happening, you completely give your power away and make it easy for others to manipulate and use you. Succeeding in life is up to you! What you fear you attract, and what you look at… disappears.
When I came up with the idea for this article, I wrote the title down along with a few paragraphs on what I wanted to cover here. I felt incredibly inspired when this idea came to me. However, later in the afternoon when I was able to sit down to write it, I simply wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t feel I was in a good state of mind to write about this topic. So what did I do? I did what I was afraid of. I was afraid to write the article when I did not feel like it because I did not think I could do as good of a job as I would have if I was feeling the same way when the inspiration hit me this morning. As I started taking action and writing this article, that same energy and feeling of inspiration I felt this morning, started to slowly come back. That is the power of taking action. You must take action in spite of your fear. The only thing that makes fear go away and reduces its effect on you, is taking action. As I said earlier, interaction breeds fear and doubt. Action breeds confidence and courage. You must chase and do what scares you most. It’s the only way you can conquer your fear regarding anything.
Make a commitment to surround yourself with people who support you. Reduce or eliminate the time you spend with those who try to discourage you. Love your family. Choose your peers. Decide what you want to create in life and who you want to become, then resolve to pay the price to get it or become it. Take relentless daily action, even if it’s just simply writing down your goals. Persist without exception. Success is not about achieving your goals. Success is finding a way to enjoy the journey towards creating and designing your ideal life. Live in the moment and take the action you know you need to take right now. The time you have been on this planet is getting longer, and the time you have left is getting shorter. That’s something to think about… and most importantly… take action upon. “Never leave the scene of setting a goal without taking some kind of action towards its attainment.”–Tony Robbins. Where intention goes, energy flows. Nothing happens until you move. “It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.”–Confucius.
If you know you are not living and becoming what you deep down know you are capable of… stop your whining and bitching about what you do not have and what is missing from your life, your past, your health problems, your sore thumb, your bad back, your lack of education, lack of money, lack of intelligence, lack of experience, lack of a lover, etc. and get busy taking action. You can bitch and whine all you want along the way, but only if you are taking relentless persistent action towards your goals and dreams. Stop making excuses and being weak, and get your ass moving. “The past does not equal the future.”-Tony Robbins. You can do more today than you did yesterday. All you have to do is simply… decide. Write your goals down as I discuss in my article Goal Setting That Works.
